Welcome to my profile! Thank you for taking the time to read a bit about me. I'm quite excited to be part of the Berkshire Hathaway Home Services team!
I am a Chester County kid, born and raised. I spent my school years growing up in West Chester. Once I married my beautiful wife, we built a nice home for ourselves in northern Chester County overlooking the French Creek valley. After having two incredible daughters, we packed up our world (including the dogs) in 2011 and made the long trip south to the West Grove area. Our girls thrived in the AvonGrove schools and we made a bunch of wonderful friends which, along with the stunning beauty of the southern Chester County countryside, seems to have planted us here for many years to come.
Professionally, I began my career in my early twenties in the insurance and investment business. The investment licensing brought me into the banking world where I spent 10 years in roles that ranged from Branch Manager to Regional Vice President of Business Development. While in the Business Banking world, I developed a great relationship with a client of mine that was in the transportation industry. In 2008, this client asked me to come aboard as a direct report to the ownership of the small company which had just purchased a 30 mile railroad in northcentral Pennsylvania. Being a small but rapidly growing business, I took on any and all responsibilities including Government Relations, Railroad Retirement accounting, Locomotive Maintenance, Track Maintenance, Railroad Construction, Real Estate Management, and many times, putting on my boots and shoveling stone in the rail yard. We just happened to be growing this little railroad operation in the middle of the Marcellus Shale and in the period from 2008 to 2012 we managed to transform from a 1 part time employee operation to 52 full time employees and a 4800% increase of railcar activity. In 2012, we sold the company off to a publicly traded railroad conglomerate and I stayed on with the now former ownership as a manager of their personally Real Estate.
The last handful of years have been spent managing roughly 66,000 sq. ft. of commercial real estate. I work closely with tenants, I manage maintenance and construction projects, I fix problems, I take calls and respond to emails and text messages at all hours, and in general, I'm available to, and responsible for, the needs of those that I work with.
My experience in insurance, banking, industrial and commercial real estate, contract negotiation, project management, and construction have been valuable to my family in our personal real estate transactions. I look forward to sharing my knowledge, experience, and responsibility with my clients and colleagues here at Berkshire Hathaway Home Service and I'll strive to serve as a trusted and valued resource for those that work with. I also hope to make many new friends along the way!
I will, most likely, bore you with a short story about railroads, Chester County history, my wife and daughters, dogs, Jeeps, or any of the things that make me happy. I definitely will be interested in learning all about you and hearing your stories!
