Meet Lynn Horning

A Villanova grad, I enjoyed a successful 25+ year career in the electric utility industry before becoming an independent energy consultant with clients in various regions of the country. I am now growing my business to include real estate services in the local markets of Chester County and Montgomery County. With my MBA and economics degrees, I am a specialist in electricity markets initially as a commodity trader and eventually as a subject matter expert that designed and developed new, technical market structures for both wholesale and retail electricity. Prior to serving real estate clients, I served the customers in the utility marketplace, as the manager of member relations and customer service for a local utility company overseeing a team of client managers and knowledge management consultants.

Why I’m Different

Leveraging my knowledge and experience in the electric utility industry, I am known for outstanding client service, 24/7 availability, high tech marketing techniques, personal touches and as a tactful and skilled negotiator with my client’s best interests at heart. I believe strongly that it is not only my duty to represent my clients to the best of my ability, but also to educate them throughout every step of the process armed with top-notch information, and market insight so that my clients make the best decisions possible.

I Believe in Giving Back

I am a firm believer in giving back and am particularly passionate about raising awareness for heart disease prevention and organ donation. I volunteer my time with organizations, such as Donate Life and the American Heart Association, and annually participate in charity fundraising events. From personal experience, I am also committed to education advocacy for children with special learning needs, including both those with disabilities and gifted learners. As a former mentor in a technical industry to many women and men, I still find opportunities to support students to find their passions and prepare for careers in both STEM and non-STEM fields.

In My Free Time

I love to read, listen to music, cycle, and especially love to cook and entertain a large circle of family and friends in my spare time. Born in New York City and raised in various mid-Atlantic states, I settled in the Philadelphia area where I have lived and worked in the Western Suburbs since 1990. My husband and I built our dream home in Chester Springs, where we have raised our family since 2000. Also, a former commodity trader and electrical engineer in the utility industry, my husband retired from Exelon to allow him to spend more time with our 2 teenage sons, 3 cats and enjoy his new title of “project engineer” at our home.
